Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

Abstract

Abstract Job assumed as one of the main human needs that has great contribution in presence of women in society. The purpose of present literature review is to identify the vital role of job among women at modern society, because it can expand and develop the abilities of women toward society and increase the amount of their responsibilities and performances at work environment. This study also emphasized that job advances the amount of efficiency among womenduring of working. Indeed, this paper supported the need of women to achieve improvement and creative job at society and appear as active member at work.Furthermore, lack of attention to accurate job for women leads to some difficulties for them and decrease their motivation for continuing job and presence at society. Keyword: Women, Modern Society, Job difficulties.

Abstract

Abstract This research evaluated the association between socio demographic characteristics and housing satisfaction of Iranian immigrant’s homeowners in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Data was collected from 325 participants through self-administered questionnaire.  Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed  monthly income of first income earner, total earned income earner, price of residential unit, number of bed room, time owners have been in Malaysia,  had positive significant relationship with housing satisfaction of Iranian immigrants homeowners  in  the study region. Nevertheless, there was no significant association between age, number of bath room, number of dining room, number of living room, length of residence in current house, monthly income of second income earner, number of income earner, number of children, and size of household and housing satisfaction of the immigrant owners’ households. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated that housing satisfaction differed between level of education, level of income, and level of price of residential unit. Independent t-test shown that there was significant difference between gender and housing satisfaction of the participants. These associations indicate that those who are females, higher income, higher education, higher residential unit with more room are more satisfied. It is recommended planners and policy makers should prominence on development of housing conditions of immigrant’s households to increase their housing satisfaction. Keywords:background characteristic, housing satisfaction, housing, immigrant’s homeowner’s households

Abstract

Abstract Some theorists believe that the brain was evolved under the influence of the community and for the community. So it seems that social function has priority on pure cognitive in the brain. The purpose of this research was to study the relationship between conformity and general memory. The current study is a descriptive-correlational research by using prediction (regression) method. For doing this, 167 students were selected via the multistage cluster method from Bonab and Tabriz Payam Noor universities. For gathering data, the Conformity L-72 Test and general memoryQuestionnaire (PRMQ) were used. The data were analyzed by using Pearson’s Correlation test and Liner Regression methods. According to the results, the predictive role of conformity for errors in the general memory was confirmed (P<0/01). So that conformity explained 46% of general memory errorsvariance.Based on these results, it seems that social and cognitive functions of the brain are linked together to meet common goals.Keywords: Conformity, General Memory, Social Brain, Cognition

Abstract

AbstractBased on last due decades, job satisfaction assumed as one of the imperative organizational factors that has great role among staff at workplace;  furthermore,focusing on this important factor and finding effective items that impact on the level of job satisfaction is very essential. The main purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between gender and job satisfaction of academic staff at public universities in Malaysia. The Job Descriptive Index inventory (JDI) was used to measures five dimensions of job satisfaction among academic staff. The data of this research taken from440 academic staff were occupied in Malaysian public universities. The findings illustrated there is a significant relationship between supervision as one of the dimension of job satisfaction and gender that analyzed by t-test.Key word: Gender, Job Satisfaction, Academic Staff, University

Abstract

AbstractThis study intended to peek into Iranian EFL learners’ metal lexicon through word association tests (WATs).  31 male and female EFL learners studying at Bonab and Marageh language institutes participated in this study. A WAT comprised of 8 English words adopted from Roux’s (2013) word list administered to the participants. The results analyzed and interpreted according to both WA conventional classification and Fitzpatrick’s framework. Within conventional classification (syntagmatic, paradigmatic, and clang), the results confirmed the syntagmatic to paradigmatic change hypothesis (S→P) only between intermediate and upper-intermediate levels. The results also indicated that low intermediate learners besides other conventional factors, associate words based on phonological and orthographical relations. Within Fitzpatrick’s framework, the results indicated that learners generally associate words according to meaning and position across all proficiency levels. However, at low-intermediate level the rate of meaning-based association overwhelms position-based association. Form-based association and erratic association drew the least attention of the participants respectively. Finally, pedagogical implication of this study along with further research idea is discussed.Key words: conventional classification, Fitzpatrick’s framework, mental lexicon, word association test

Abstract

Abstract Prescription of drug abuse is an important and significant world issue. This study aims to compare sixteen personality factors among patients with substance abuse disorder and normal people. The research method was ex post facto and statistical population consisted of two groups of addicted individuals and normal individuals in Tehran. 100 addicted patients were selected by convenient sampling method among patients who had referred to addiction treatment centers in Tehran. The control group with 100 people was selected from normal people. Research instruments included Cattell’s Sixteen Personality Factor Inventory (16PF) and the collected data was analyzed using ANOVA. Findings revealed that there are significant differences in factor A, factor C, factor E, factor F, factor G, factor H, factor I, factor L, factor M, factor N, factor O, factor Q1, factor Q2, factor Q3, and factor Q4 among addicted and healthy groups. It is concluded that an awareness of the effects of personality factors on substance abuse can help to decrease, or even prevent, addiction disorder. Key words: addiction, personality factors, substance dependence disorder

Abstract

Abstract One of the important organizational factors among staffs is job satisfaction. This inner feeling  assumed as basic factor that emerged by various elements at workplace. According to the different role of elements that effect on job satisfaction, organization’s managers should be consider the correct styles of management. In reality, lack of consideration to this human need leads to appear various abnormal behaviors at organization. The main purpose of present literature review is focused on the vital role of conflict management styles on job satisfaction among staff and also examines relationships between conflict management styles and job satisfaction at workplace. In reality, momentous regard should be dedicated the accurate management styles at organization. Correspondingly, the precise management styles as external element have noticeable role on job satisfaction at organization because each of these styles can advance the obligation of staff toward organization.
